Peaches and Bella in Tulsa, OK
This is Peaches and her best friend Bella. You may recognize Peaches as she was posted on here recently to find a forever home. Then Bella came to stay with us and they recognized each other as they were breeders in the same facility. They have been so happy together and as best friends do, bring out the best in each other! If it starts to thunder or get noisy outside, Bella goes to Peaches, snuggles in and both are quiet until the noise is gone. They nap together, go outside together, and sleep in the same bed at night.
They are both 3 years old and would like to be together in their new home. They are both very healthy and have been spayed, teeth cleaned and both have a microchip. Bella has a little trouble absorbing vitamin B12 and takes 1 tablet (over the counter) daily on her food. Bella weighs 20 lbs and Peaches weighs 21.
They are a little anxious around new people and didn’t get a lot of positive people attention in their previous placement. They need to have a new home with a calm environment, loving patient people who understand that their timid response is not that they don’t like you, but touch is something they are still learning can be relaxing and loving. They both require a securely fenced yard to chase “critters” and just be free to roll in the grass, run with the other dogs and just be dogs!
Peaches will pick a place in the home for her “safe” place, usually the couch. She stays there all day and will go out when invited but only if she needs to. She wants to be fed there as well. Bella is usually right by her but wanders the house more and uses a dog door to go out. At night, they both sleep in the same dog bed in the corner of their foster mom’s room. They are house trained; Bella is totally independent, Peaches will have an accident by the door if she gets up in the night. A crate may be a good option for this.
Peaches and Bella have not been tested with cats and are still very timid with a leash. The more confidence and experiences they get from each other and some yard practice, we think they can learn this fun activity. Peaches will bark at children in her space and fears their unpredictability. Bella likes them but doesn’t want to be petted by them.
The best new home for this pair will have someone around much of the time, a fenced yard, and calm environment.
