Honey in Schertz, TX
Update 6-17-26: We’ve received several promising applications for this pup so aren’t taking more applications for now. Thank you!
Meet Honey! This sweet girl has been through a lot, but her resilient, loving spirit hasn’t changed one bit. Found wandering the streets, we don’t know her past, though she’s estimated to be about 6–7 years old. Honey is officially ready to turn the page and find her forever home.

Honey is a true companion — she’ll follow you from room to room and loves nothing more than a cozy couch, cuddles, and the occasional stuffed toy. Because she’s very bonded to her person, she would do best in a home with minimal alone time.

Mealtime is one of Honey’s favorite times of day. She’s highly food motivated and should stay on a feeding schedule with a slow-feed bowl to help her savor her meals a little longer.

Honey gets along well with other dogs — she’s indifferent and will happily lounge near her foster siblings, though she’d also do great as an only dog. She also doesn’t mind the cats in her foster home.

She’s fully crate trained and will gladly sleep in your bed. She may get up and down during the night, and she’s also comfortable being crated when her foster family is away for an hour or two.

Honey has had hernia/spay surgery and a full dental cleaning. Although five teeth were removed, you wouldn’t be able to tell.

Because her time outdoors gave her a bit of an adventurous, free-spirited streak, her ideal home has a couple of important requirements to keep her safe:
- No doggy doors: Honey is clever and would likely treat a doggy door as an opportunity to go exploring unsupervised.
- Chaperoned outdoor time: She needs a securely fenced yard and a person to go outside with her. She’s a talented digger and can be a runner, so potty breaks must be shared and supervised.

Honey has aged past the chaotic puppy stage, but she still has plenty of years of affection, loyalty, and gentle companionship to offer. If you’re looking for a sweet, soulful shadow to follow you around, curl up with, and remind you every day how wonderful it feels to be loved by a Cavalier —Honey may be your girl.
