Elsie is quite simply one of the sweetest dogs you could ever hope to meet. This adorable little four-year-old Cavapoo has a gentle soul, a loving heart, and is learning every day that the world can be a safe and wonderful place.

Her favorite place is outside, where she bounces through the yard like a little spring lamb, full of joy and curiosity. She would happily spend hours exploring, sniffing, and enjoying the fresh air. A securely fenced yard is essential for Elsie, as she can be startled easily and is quick on her feet if frightened.

Elsie has made tremendous progress in foster care over the past few weeks. She is fully house-trained and completely crate-trained. In fact, she loves her crate and cozy bed, which provide comfort and security when she needs a quiet place to relax.

While Elsie is incredibly affectionate with the person she trusts, she is naturally shy and timid around strangers and can be sensitive to loud noises and sudden movements. She tends to gravitate toward women and will need a patient adopter who understands that trust is earned over time. Once you become her person, however, her devotion is unmatched. She will happily sit beside you for hours, soaking up cuddles, kisses, and companionship.

Elsie currently lives with another dog and enjoys following him around and learning from him. A calm canine companion could help continue building her confidence, though it is not a requirement. What she truly needs is a calm, loving home and someone willing to give her the time and patience she deserves.

She enjoys walks and walks nicely on leash. She is not reactive to cars and generally prefers a peaceful, predictable environment. Feeding can still require a little encouragement, and she often enjoys having something tasty mixed into her kibble.

Elsie’s ideal home would be a quieter household without young children. She is looking for someone who wants more than just a dog—she is looking for a best friend. Someone who enjoys being outdoors, appreciates the small victories, and understands that the deepest bonds are often the ones that take a little time to build.
