Meet Joey! If you’ve been dreaming of a best friend who simply wants to love you with his whole heart, look no further than this incredible boy.

Joey is a gorgeous seven- year-old (born on September 2, 2018) and is one of those rare souls who asks for so little, yet gives absolutely everything in return.

Joey is on the larger end of the Cavalier spectrum at about 27 pounds, giving him a sturdy build while still having the sweet, gentle temperament the breed is known for.

He is kind, quiet, polite, affectionate and happiest when he’s by your side.

Whether you’re making coffee in the kitchen, working at your desk, or relaxing in the living room, he’ll quietly follow along, content just to be near his favorite person.

Joey is the definition of an easy companion. His favorite outings are leisurely strolls where he can take in the sights and smells at a relaxed pace, followed by curling up beside you on the couch for a cozy nap.

One of his sweetest qualities is how much he loves people.

Children, adults, strangers, friends… it doesn’t matter. Everyone is greeted with a happy tail wag, a gentle smile, and the hope of making a new friend. He has a calm, loving spirit that makes everyone feel special.

Joey truly is the perfect example of why Cavaliers capture so many hearts. He is affectionate without being demanding, calm without being boring, and devoted without being clingy. He simply wants to share life with his family.

He truly is as close to perfect as they come. It’s hard to explain just how special he is until you’ve lived with him. He doesn’t fill a room with boundless energy; Joey fills it with comfort and peace.

Aside from being treated for simple ear infections and having some mild arthritis from an old, healed injury, he’s a healthy, happy boy. He still loves leisurely walks, eagerly patrols the yard to make sure the bunnies and cows know whose yard it is, and embraces each day with enthusiasm, particularly at meal time!

Joey is up to date on all vaccinations, on heartworm preventatives, and is microchipped. He also recently had a dental cleaning which required no extractions.

He is completely potty trained and has had no accidents in his foster home, just adding to the great manners that he consistently displays.

Joey’s perfect home would be one filled with love, soft places to nap, humans home most of the day to follow from room to room, and someone who understands that a his greatest joy is simply being near you.

A fenced yard for leisurely exploration would be ideal for him.

Joey adores children, and due to his sturdy size, would be perfect for kids of all ages.

Although Joey does get along beautifully with other dogs, having another canine companion is not necessary for him to be content.

If your idea of happiness is having a loyal little shadow who will greet you every morning with unconditional love, accompany you on peaceful walks, and end every day snuggled beside you on the couch, this handsome gentleman may just be the missing piece of your family.
