Lily in Franklin, NC

Lily is a lovey 15 month old female Ruby, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel born 04/11/2025. She came into rescue after being in 2 other homes that were not a good fit. She was a very timid fearful girl upon arrival. She would only eat if hand fed, had no clue what a leash or harness were, had no vaccines or medical care, wasn’t spayed and was a little under weight. She has made leaps and bounds in her progress in foster care.

At 13 lbs, Lily is a petite girl with a gentle heart and a sweet soul. She can still be a little timid when she first meets new people and experiences new surroundings, but give her a few days and she’ll find her place. Once she feels safe, she loves being part of the pack and enjoys following her people and furry friends around.

Lily absolutely loves other dogs. She has grown fond of her Cavalier foster brother and has even started playing with him. She also does wonderfully with cats. Because of her timidness, we are requiring she goes to a home with another small, young playful pup that can help her feel safe and build her confidence.

She’s mastered sitting on command and is eager to please. She’s still learning good leash manners and is making progress with house training, so she’ll need a patient family committed to helping her continue to succeed. Lily sleeps nicely in her bed in her pen at night, though she’d probably be happiest snuggled up with her people if given the chance. She does experience some separation anxiety, so she’d do best in a home where someone is around much of the day.

Because she’s a petite girl and can be shy at first, a quiet home without children is best for her. Older, respectful children who have had lots of experience around dogs and understand how to give her time and space would be considered. She also needs a home with a secure fenced yard.

Lily is now spayed, healthy, and current on her vaccines. She’s the definition of a Velcro dog. She loves being close to her people and happily matches their energy. Whether you’re heading out to play or settling in for a cozy afternoon on the couch, Lily is all in. She can romp and play with the best of them, but she’s just as content curling up for a nap, especially if it includes plenty of belly rubs.
