Xena in Skaneateles, NY

Meet Xena, an adorable and healthy 7-year-old Blenheim Cavalier girl. Xena began her life in the breeding world and was rehomed once she retired. She then moved in with a couple and their male dog, whose behavioral challenges created a stressful environment for Xena.The couple did amazing work with Xena to fully potty train her and provide love and care. They were heartbroken to rehome her, but came to realize that perhaps Xena would do best in a new setting. Xena is a doll and shows little to no anxiety in her foster home with her new Cavalier friends!

Xena is a gentle Cavalier and loves to be with her people. At home she is cuddly and will absolutely follow her people from room to room. Foster mom works from home and Xena is often found under the desk.

She is great on leash walks and ready to jump in the car for outings. She has met dozens of new people and is friendly to all. Fun fact: While visiting the local pumpkin patch, two little boys asked if they could pet her and asked her name. When foster mom replied “Xena” their eyes opened wide and one said “Our dogs name is Xena too and it means Warrior Princess!”.  Foster life takes courage, and this princess Xena has faced it like the little warrior she is.  

Xena arrived fully house trained. She is crate trained as well and sleeps in a crate next to foster mom’s bed overnight. Xena is spayed and up-to-date on core vaccines and preventatives. She appears to have some hearing loss but is otherwise a heart clear, healthy pup.

Someone who is home much of the time would be wonderful for Xena. She would likely be fine as an only pet, but certainly loves a gentle pet sibling. She does need to have a fenced in yard.
