Naughtya in Elgin, OR

Naughtya is a sweet, gentle 5-year-old Cavalier who is looking for a quiet forever home where she can relax, cuddle, and be close to her people. Born in 2021, Naughtya came into rescue with three other dogs from a breeder situation. 

Her foster mom says Naughtya seems to be smiling much of the time; it’s easy to see why. She absolutely loves being with her people and would happily spend all day curled up in a lap if given the opportunity. She was very shy and quiet when she first arrived, but as she has become more comfortable and confident, her sweet personality has really started to shine.

Naughtya currently lives with the female dog she came into rescue with, two other Cavaliers, a Saint Bernard, and a Rottweiler mix puppy. She gets along well with everyone, but all the activity can be a bit much for her. Because she is naturally shy and timid, she would be happiest in a calmer home where she can take her time settling in and enjoy a more peaceful lifestyle.

She is a very good girl who is obedient and can be trusted loose in the house when her people are away. She is fully potty trained and currently uses a doggy door, although she may need some time to learn a new routine in a home without one. She enjoys car rides, relaxing in the sunshine in the backyard, and, of course, cuddling. She currently sleeps in a crate with her rescue companion and is perfectly content there, but her dream would probably be to graduate to her family’s big bed!

When Naughtya arrived in rescue, she was overweight and out of shape. She currently weighs 19 pounds and has lost 3 pounds while in rescue. The weight loss has made a noticeable difference in how she feels and moves, and it will be important for her new family to help her maintain a healthy weight. She eats her meals in her crate so she can take her time and enjoy her food without worrying about the other dogs getting to it first.

Naughtya is blind in her right eye due to a fully mature cataract, but it doesn’t slow her down at all. You would never know she has limited vision in that eye. She has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations. She recently had a dental and lost three teeth. 

Naughtya would thrive in a home where someone is around much of the time and wants a devoted little cuddle bug by their side throughout the day. She should do well with other gentle animals and respectful children, though a quieter household would be the ideal fit for this sweet, somewhat timid girl.
