Havie in Plymouth, MI
Sweetness that’s off the charts.
Meet Havie, a beautiful 6-year-old female Blenheim Cavalier. This lovely girl came to rescue when her previous family realized their busy household couldn’t allow for the time and attention this 16-pound little darling deserves. They’d only had her for four months and wanted the best match for her. Havie spent her early years as a breeder momma, raising several litters of puppies. Now it’s her turn to be the one receiving all the love and care!

Havie has settled into foster care beautifully. She has been a delightful houseguest from day one. The first thing people notice about Havie is her calm, gentle nature. She is extremely easy to love. Whether she’s meeting a new person or spending time with her foster family, Havie approaches life with a sweet and trusting spirit. She enjoys being petted and will happily walk right up to visitors to say hello and ask for affection.

As if her sweet personality weren’t enough, Havie has a look all her own. She has unique Blenheim markings that give her an adorable, expressive face. These markings, combined with her sweet disposition, make little Havie instantly memorable.

Havie is very people-oriented and would be happiest in a home where she can spend lots of time with her family. While she isn’t a lap dog, she always wants to be nearby. Her favorite spot is often right at her foster mom’s feet, gazing up with her adorable Cavalier eyes. A true Velcro dog, she’s happiest simply being near her people and quietly keeping them company throughout the day.

One of Havie’s favorite things is going for walks. She has excellent leash manners and loves going outside for fresh air. She also rides nicely in the car, quickly settling into her pet car seat. Around the house, her energy level is moderate to low. She enjoys toys but prefers companionship and gentle interaction over constant activity.

Havie is house trained, crate trained and knows her name as well as the “sit” command. She sleeps well in her crate and gets along with children, other dogs and cats.

She is spayed and recently received a clean heart evaluation with no murmur detected. She does have an interdigital cyst on one rear paw that occasionally causes mild irritation. It is easy to manage with swabs but may recur from time to time. She doesn’t currently have mobility issues, but because she is a mature Cavalier, her veterinarian recommends limiting repeated jumping on and off furniture when possible. Pet stairs would be a wonderful addition to her new home.

Havie’s ideal family would include someone who is home most of the day and enjoys having a loyal companion nearby. While she is accustomed to an active household, she would likely thrive in a somewhat quieter environment where she can soak up plenty of attention and affection. A fenced yard is a bonus, but Havie much prefers leash walks with her person to spending time alone outside. Older children who understand how to be gentle with a small dog would be a great fit.
