Lucy in Medford, OR
If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion to shower with love, look no further than Miss Lucy! At 9 years young and a petite 16 pounds, this gorgeous tricolor Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has plenty of love to give. Her foster family says her name should actually be spelled L-O-V-E!

Lucy’s journey hasn’t always been easy. She spent the first six years of her life in a breeding facility, raising puppies. She was later cherished by a loving owner, whose passing led Lucy to the care of Cavalier Rescue USA this past August. Now, Lucy is ready for her next chapter: a forever home where she can enjoy her well-deserved retirement, soak up affection, and be pampered like the little Queen she is!

Lucy is a happy, devoted girl who wants nothing more than to be close to her people. She loves being your little shadow, following you from room to room and keeping you company throughout the day. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch or going about your daily routine, Lucy is happiest when she can be right there beside you. If you’re looking for a companion who will fill your days with affection, she may be just the girl for you!

Lucy is a good girl at mealtime, too! She absolutely loves her food and has mastered the art of sitting patiently while waiting for her tasty meals. She’s a smart girl who enjoys her routines and is happy to earn a delicious reward. When the leash comes out, Lucy knows something fun is about to happen! She enjoys her daily walks and happily greets the neighbors and fellow dog walkers she meets along the way. Friendly, gentle, and outgoing, Lucy loves making new friends and welcoming visitors of all ages.

More than anything, Lucy wants a home where she can be cherished and included in everyday life. She would do well with someone who is home often and appreciates having a loving little companion close by. In return, Lucy promises plenty of devotion, companionship, and a whole lot of love.

Just prior to being rescued, Lucy was spayed and had a small mammary-area tumor removed. Like many Cavaliers, she has mitral valve disease (MVD), which has caused a grade 4/6 heart murmur. She happily takes her twice-daily Vetmedin tucked into a treat. Lucy is microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and underwent dental surgery while in rescue to eliminate an old infection.

Lucy loves getting outdoors and enjoying her daily walks. Her special pink all-weather booties will accompany her to her new home to help protect her paws in extreme weather conditions. Her favorite cozy bedding, toys, leash, and collar will be coming along, too!

Lucy is completely deaf, but that certainly hasn’t stopped her from enjoying life! She is learning hand signals and has already picked up several during her time in foster care. Because Lucy cannot hear approaching cars or other potential dangers, her forever home must have a secure physical fence to keep her safe. She adapts well to familiar routines and is a smart girl who is eager to learn.

She is fully house-trained and has a sweet way of letting her people know when she needs to go outside: she simply sits patiently by the door. Lucy may also offer a mellow bark when she spots someone unfamiliar near the front gate. Of course, if she’s comfortably snoozing, she might not bother!

Lucy is ready to leave her difficult beginnings behind and enjoy the comforts of a loving home. She would be especially happy with someone who is home often, enjoys having a devoted companion nearby, and has plenty of affection to share. She would be fine with other pets in the household but prefers her humans.

Imagine having a little shadow who follows you through the house, greets everyone with happy enthusiasm on your walks, and curls up beside you when it’s time to relax. That’s Lucy—a sweet, outgoing love bug who simply wants to belong. If you have an abundance of love to give, a cozy couch to share, and a safe, secure yard, Lucy may be the little Queen you’ve been waiting for.
