Annie in Tulsa, OK
Hello there! My name is Annie a sweet, 3-year-old, 17 pound tricolor from Cleveland, Oklahoma. I lived with a nice woman who took me in from a dog hoarding situation with another dog. Our new mommy took great care of us, gave us warm beds , good food, baths and daily combing. We got lots of attention and cuddle time with her. Gone were smelly coats, tangled matted fur, and lack of good food. We lived with new mommy for 8 months but she recently got a new job that required her to work long hours so she felt we needed to have new families. So here I am.
I recently got all my shots and vaccines up to date. I am on heartworm and flea preventatives. I’ve been spayed, have my microchip, and my teeth are pearly white. I love long, warm shampoo baths. Daddy massages my back and neck and it is so relaxing. My heart is strong and healthy, structure is good, and I have a smooth, soft, and shiny coat. I like to sleep, and wander around in the back yard, sniffing and exploring there and in the house.
Foster daddy reports that I am doing pretty good at the house training. He doesn’t like if I leave a surprise on the floor, so we try to go out frequently. I know how to use a doggy door but he doesn’t have one, so he takes me out every 2-3 hours. I’ll do better in the future. If he is out of the house longer, he keeps me in my pen, which I am fine with. I am much happier and do best with another Cavalier to bunk with and play and run with outside. I love people so much and will crawl in your lap and show my love with kisses. I am learning to respect people’s boundaries a bit, but it is hard!
I eat at 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM every day. I like my food and get a thank you treat after I go potty for “Getting Busy!” as daddy tells us. I go on walks with him daily and get to meet the nice children and big people in the neighborhood. I love the attention and those little hands scratching me and loving me. I tend to walk faster than him and tug on the leash or try to wander left and right but I’m getting better at listening to him and staying close next to him, stopping, staying, and sitting when he says so.
I want to find a kind family that will keep me safe and warm, to play, cuddle and love. I would love to have a fellow Cavalier buddy or small dog to be my friend and bunk mate and a fenced yard too. I look forward to finding my new happy forever home.
