Apollo in Franklin, PA
Apollo is the sweetest, most loving boy you will ever meet. This handsome pup was born 03/09/2025. He came into foster care due to changing circumstances with his family, and he has adapted incredibly well to life in his foster home.

Apollo thrives in a busy environment and absolutely adores his foster siblings — both human and canine. He is a true Velcro dog who always wants to be wherever his people are. Despite loving companionship, he is fully crate trained and finds comfort in his crate during daytime naps and at bedtime.

He has been around cats, toddlers, and older children, and he loves them all equally. Apollo is very curious on walks and enjoys letting everyone know he’s in the neighborhood, happily barking when another dog or friend passes by.

Like many young dogs, Apollo is constantly on the go and still has some puppy tendencies. But when it’s time to relax, he becomes the ultimate lap dog. He loves cuddling on the couch, giving kisses, and soaking up affection from his people.

Apollo can occasionally find himself in a bit of mischief if left unsupervised and will happily chew anything he discovers on the floor. He would love a giant toy bin of his very own! He especially enjoys playing fetch and chasing all kinds of balls. He is smart, attentive, knows his name, and follows simple commands well. Because he loves to explore, a fenced-in yard or an active family committed to frequent walks would be ideal. Apollo has also shown that he is incredibly fast and agile while in foster care and would likely excel in agility activities or training.

Apollo weighs approximately 19 pounds and is highly food motivated. He enjoys eating his dry kibble from a slow feeder bowl with a little water added to help pace his eating. He is up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped.

When Apollo first came into care, he had cherry eye. He underwent surgery to correct it, but unfortunately the condition returned several weeks later. After working closely with the veterinarian, Apollo had a second surgery, and thankfully his cherry eye now appears to be fully resolved.

Apollo is still working on house training. At this stage, he does best when taken outside frequently — ideally every hour — and when his family closely watches for cues that he needs to go out. He is very smart, and with consistency and patience, he is making progress and will continue to improve.

Apollo would thrive in a home where someone is present much of the day and willing to continue working patiently on his house training. He would love having another dog sibling to follow around and learn from, but would also be fine as a solo pup. Apollo would also do well in a home with children, as long as toys and chewable items are kept picked up and out of reach.
