Ash in Norristown, PA

Ash is a handsome, sweet 3-year-old Blenheim boy born 6/18/2023 who came to Cavalier Rescue USA when his previous owner was no longer able to care for him. Since arriving in foster care, Ash has blossomed into a loving, playful, and affectionate companion who is ready to find his forever family.

When Ash first arrived, he was a little underweight and unsure of his new surroundings. With patience, consistency, and lots of love from his foster mom, he has grown into a much more confident dog. While he initially displayed some territorial marking behaviors, those have improved as he settled into a stable routine. As a precaution, he is kenneled when his foster mom is away from home. At night, he sleeps peacefully in his crate and does well with his daily routine.

Ash likes to keep an eye on his surroundings and takes his self-appointed watchdog duties seriously. If someone approaches the house or comes to the door, he’ll happily let you know with an alert bark. It may take him a moment to settle after making sure everyone is aware of a visitor, but once he’s satisfied that all is well, he’s ready to return to playing, cuddling, or following his people around. His foster mom sees this as one of the many ways Ash shows how devoted he is to those he loves.

Ash currently lives with a Black Labrador Retriever and loves having a canine friend to play with. He would thrive in a home with another young friendly, active dog who can continue to help him gain confidence. He is also wonderful with children of all ages.

This sweet boy adores affection and wants to be close to his people whenever possible. Ash is an active, fun-loving Cavalier who enjoys plenty of exercise and playtime. One of his favorite activities is chasing balls, and he will happily play fetch as long as you throw the ball. He also loves a good game of tug-of-war with both dogs and humans. Because of his social and playful personality, Ash would do best in a home where he can stay active, engaged, and included in family life.

Ash is eager to please and enjoys learning. He knows commands such as sit and down and enjoys working for treats and praise. Speaking of treats, food is one of Ash’s favorite things! He gets very excited at mealtime but has learned to sit patiently and wait for his food. He is currently eating Fromm kibble and has reached a healthy weight of approximately 14 pounds.

Ash has not been tested with cats. Based on his foster mom’s observations, he may do well with a cat, though his bubbly and playful personality could be a bit much for some feline friends.

Most importantly, Ash is a sweet, loving boy who has truly flourished in foster care. He is ready to find a family that will provide the companionship, affection, attention, and fun he deserves.

Ash is a wonderful young Cavalier with a playful spirit and a loving heart. Whether he’s chasing a tennis ball, playing tug-of-war, cuddling with his people, or making friends with other dogs, Ash brings joy wherever he goes. He’s ready to find the forever family he’s been waiting for.
