Bart in Franklin, TN

Update 3-25-26: We’ve received several promising applications for this pup so aren’t taking more applications for now. Thank you!

Bartholomew (better known as Bart) is a sweet, cuddly, three-year-old Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a beautiful white and chestnut coat.

Bart has a sweet, affectionate personality. Weighing just under sixteen pounds, Bart is a charming little companion who loves being close to his people and soaking up all the attention he can get.

Bart is a true “velcro” Cavalier who thrives on companionship. His favorite place in the world is right next to his person, preferably curled up on the couch for a cuddle session.

Bart has a gentle, easygoing personality and a moderate energy level. While he enjoys relaxing, he also loves playtime with squeaky toys and will happily chase them as you pull them along.

Bart is also quite the little observer, and enjoys sitting outside on a porch or balcony watching the world go by.

One of his most endearing habits is rolling onto his back and falling asleep in the most amusing positions just to stay close to his favorite humans.

Since coming into foster care, Bart has made wonderful progress learning the routines of home life.

He is working diligently on house training and continues to improve.

Bart has already learned several commands including “sit,” “lay down,” and “get up on the couch or bed,” and he is eager to learn more. He is learning to walk on a leash and is catching on quickly.

Bart enjoys spending time outdoors sniffing and exploring and would be happy with regular walks or a home with a safe outdoor area.

Bart is interested in other dogs and generally gets along well with them, though he can be a little shy at first. Bart has not been around cats. He is curious about children, but seems to prefer a calmer environment.

Because he loves being with his people, Bart would do best in a home where someone is around much of the time.

Bart is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives, and microchipped. Since coming into rescue he has received excellent veterinary care and was treated for an ear infection which he has fully recovered from.
