Bell in Fort Worth, TX

Bell is a sweet Blenheim Cavalier born 9/22/15.  She has a gentle soul and a heart full of love. She is the definition of an easy-going companion and is looking for a family who will appreciate her calm, relaxed personality.

Bell is an independent girl who enjoys having her own cozy spot to relax. You’ll often find her resting comfortably on her bed, though she is always happy to stop by for pets, affection, and a little quality time with her people. She thrives in a peaceful environment where she can feel safe and loved.

Since coming into foster care, Bell has made wonderful progress. She quickly learned how to use the doggie door and has mastered a few mealtime commands, including sit and stay. She is incredibly food-motivated and never misses an opportunity to check out what’s happening in the kitchen! One of her cutest habits is doing an enthusiastic little leg kick and stomp when she thinks food might be headed her way. It never fails to make us laugh.

Bell enjoys spending time outdoors and loves having the freedom to explore the yard and soak up some sunshine. While she isn’t interested in toys or rough-and-tumble play, she is starting to show more of her personality every day. She’s even been heard offering a few playful “woofs” when the other dogs are running around having fun. Bell gets along well with other dogs but would also be perfectly happy as the only dog in the home.

Bell is a little hard of hearing, but she responds wonderfully to hand signals and has adapted very well. She’s smart, attentive, and enjoys following her daily routine.

Bell has received excellent veterinary care while in foster care. She is spayed, up to date on all core vaccinations and preventatives, and has had a dental cleaning. She also had a growth removed from her leg and has recovered beautifully. As is common for her breed, Bell has a heart murmur, but it currently requires no medication. She has had an echocardiogram and it was graded at a B1 and will need routine monitoring as part of her ongoing care. Like many senior dogs, Bell also has some arthritis, but she continues to enjoy her daily activities. She occasionally experiences a little eye watering due to eyelashes that turn inward, but it is easily managed. She has lost some weight in foster care but, at 28 lbs, could still lose a couple pounds.  

Bell is wonderful with small children and has proven to be a very low-maintenance, easy companion. Her ideal home would be with someone who is home most of the time, such as a retiree or someone who works from home. She would love a family that can provide companionship, a comfortable place to nap, and plenty of affection.

Bell is a special senior girl with so much love left to give. She doesn’t ask for much, just kindness, patience, and a person of her own. In return, you’ll gain a loyal, sweet companion who will quietly brighten your days and remind you that the best things in life are often the simplest.
