Bentley is a sweetheart …and he even wears a heart on his side to prove it.

Bentley is a handsome nine-year-old Blenheim Cavalier, born February 10, 2017. He came to rescue because of his owner’s illness.

At 18 pounds, Bentley is a devoted little gentleman who wants nothing more than to be close to his people and enjoy the comforts of a loving home.

And then there’s Bentley’s love of water! If there’s water, Bentley is probably going to find it—and enjoy it! Whether it’s a bathtub, puddle, doggie splash pad, or even his water dish, he thinks water is fantastic. Watching him discover a puddle or splash around is guaranteed to make you smile!

Bentley has been working on a little potty-time habit of eating stool. His foster family has been successfully redirecting him with treats and praise when he responds to “leave it,” and he continues to make progress.

Bentley has also made wonderful strides since coming into his foster home. After his owner became ill, he spent a bit of time in boarding, and that experience appears to have made him somewhat protective of his personal space. He has responded well to patient handling and a consistent environment.

For Bentley’s comfort and continued success, however, he would be happiest as the only dog in his forever home.

Medically, Bentley is doing very well. He has a mildly enlarged heart, but no treatment is needed at this time. Otherwise, he is healthy and up to date on vaccinations. He is neutered, microchipped, and recently had a dental cleaning with no extractions needed.

Bentley is looking for a family who will make him a true member of the household and include him in their daily lives, activities and adventures. He has so much love to give, and would thrive with people who enjoy having their Cavalier close by.

His ideal forever home would be a calm, loving home where he can be the only dog, with children aged ten or older. Bentley would do best with a family or owner who is able to spend plenty of time with him and keep him involved in their daily life. He deserves a forever home where he can finally relax, feel secure and simply enjoy being someone’s special boy.
