Bonnie in Ypsilanti, MI
Me, me, me, me, ME! This adorable tricolor female born 07/29/2020 wants to be the center of attention and the center of her fur-ever home. Bonnie came into rescue after her owner could no longer care for her.
Bonnie arrived in foster care with a history of UTIs which our vet diagnosed as a symptom of an inverted vulva. Our vet performed corrective surgery to minimize this condition and make Bonnie much more comfortable. She is healing nicely and will get her stiches removed before adoption. Regular check-ups are all that is required now.

This little gal is one of the more alpha females we have had in rescue. She thrives on attention and wants to claim all of the human snuggles for herself. Bonnie is a bit bossy with the other Cavaliers in her foster home, definitely preferring to be close to her humans over playing with other dogs. She will bark at her humans when they are petting the other dogs and not Bonnie, or when they have forgotten to give her a special kiss or words of praise. For these reasons, we suggest she be placed as an only dog in her fur-ever home.

Bonnie is a bit overweight at 21 lbs and needs to lose a few more pounds which should be easily achievable with diet and exercise. She would benefit from daily walks to work on this weight loss journey and would really enjoy walks that allow her to meet the neighbors!
An active person or family (with older children) with someone home most of the time would be the perfect situation for Bonnie. She loves car rides and is always looking for an opportunity to go along on adventures — if it’s not too hot outside. Her favorite adventures are the ones that involve meeting new people so she can be in the spotlight. She enjoys both walking outdoors and being a couch potato indoors, sitting next to her people.

During the day Bonnie hangs out with her Cavalier foster siblings, while her foster mom works from home. This allows Bonnie frequent potty breaks. She has excellent house manners and doesn’t even mind the resident cats in her foster home. Bonnie is spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on her vaccines. No heart murmur was detected during her recent vet visit.

If you have someone home during the day for regular potty breaks, live within a reasonable driving distance of the foster home and are looking to make Bonnie your only Cavalier/dog, please fill out the online adoption application (if you don’t already have an application on file) and contact June at (June.cavaliers@gmail.com) to let us know of your interest in this charming attention seeker.
