Brandy in Highland Park, IL

Hi! My name is Brandy and I am the sweetest redhead you’ll ever meet! I was given to Cavalier Rescue USA by my breeder who wanted the perfect forever home to be found for me. I am a 3-year-old (my birthday is 2-4-2023), 21 pound chocolate Ruby Cavalier and I have the most soulful eyes and stunning silky red coat. All I want in life is to share my love with my people. I love nothing more than cuddling on the couch next to my foster parents or trying to climb up onto my foster dad’s lap while he works. I can’t be close enough! I have a calm personality and a gentle temperament and do not bark except when I’m on neighborhood watch duty or my foster parents return home (I have to tell them just how much I missed them!).

I like all dogs, including my Cavalier foster brother and sister. They have taught me many new things in my foster home, so it would be nice to have a canine friend in my forever home, but I love my foster parents the most. I like new people I meet too, but I can be shy at first. I feel comfortable around older, respectful children, but younger children’s movements and loud noises frighten me.

In just a short amount of time I have learned to walk on a leash wearing a harness and I enjoy going for walks around the quiet neighborhood with my Cavalier foster brother and sister. I really enjoy exploring my foster parents’ physically fenced yard, so I would love to have my own safe yard in my forever home.

I am fully housetrained on a schedule and I can hold it all night. I sleep in a crate in the bedroom near my foster parents, but I would LOVE to be able to sleep in the big bed with my new person as being physically close is important to me. Did I mention I love cuddling? I do not like being left alone, and will let my foster parents know by barking/whining to show my dismay when they dare to leave the house. I would like someone that is home most of the time so I am not left alone often because I love my people oh so much!

I am a very healthy girl! I have a clear heart, sound knees and I have recently undergone a spay, dental (with only 1 extraction), am up to date on core vaccines, heartworm/flea/tick prevention and am microchipped.
