Bri in Harrisburg, PA

Bri is a pretty 1.5 year old Ruby Cavalier who is on the small side at 12 pounds.

When Bri was a tiny puppy she had a seizure that was attributed to hypoglycemia. She was not the best eater and would only eat once a day. Shortly before she came into rescue she had an episode where she was slight wobbly and was staring off into space. Her family felt that they may be unable to give her the care for her so she was released to rescue.

Since coming into rescue Bri has been happily eating two meals a day with no issues, although she does not like to eat in her crate! We did not observe any unusual episodes in the several months that that she was in rescue. She did see the veterinarian while in rescue. He said he did not see anything unusual with her but she may have exhibited signs of fly catchers syndrome before she came to rescue. Her new family will need to monitor her.

Bri is a very outgoing girl who really, really likes to be around people! In fact, her nickname in her foster family is the ‘Ruby Shadow’! She loves all people and has visited at a local nursing home and gone to church meetings. She was a star both places! However, Bri does not like to be left for long periods of time at home alone in her crate. The ideal home for Bri would be one that would take her out frequently to be with people, take her to work with them or who would be able to be home with her most of the time.Bri would be an excellent pet therapy dog.

Bri gets along well with her Cavalier foster siblings but is a little unsure about the big rambunctious dogs in the foster house so she ideally will have another small dog in her new family. She also got along well with the cat that she stayed with when she first came into foster care.

Bri is house-trained but needs to be carefully watched because her signal to go out is simply to look at the door. She is also crate trained and will sleep happily in her crate for the entire night.

If you are looking for a young dog who will want to go places and do things with you, Bri just may be the perfect fit!
