Meet Campbell – Your Future Cuddle Buddy! Say hello to Campbell, a sweet 6 year old Ruby boy who’s ready to find his forever home. Born September 24th of 2018 and weighing just 14.5 lbs, Campbell is the perfect pint-sized companion for someone looking for a loyal, gentle soul to share their life (and couch!) with.  

Campbell is a soft, quiet boy who’s still learning the ropes of home life after being surrendered by a breeder. While he may start off shy, once he warms up, he’s a total love bug who adores cuddling up to his person or snuggling with another pup if a lap isn’t available. He does best in a calm, peaceful environment where he can feel safe and loved. Probably because he was a breeder dog for his whole young life, Campbell will do best with someone who has patience and lots of love to show him before he feels confident and relaxed around lots of people. His foster mom says he is never a bother and just wants to be where ever she is but is ok when left alone.

Campbell is making great progress with house training with the help of a belly band and rarely has an accident or marks but he will need someone to help continue his training to fully master it. He is used to going in a backyard often with his foster siblings but will also walk on a leash to do his business. Campbell responds well to positive reinforcement so training him to sit, stay and working on recall is recommended.  

When Campbell is in the yard or on the floor, he zooms around like a puppy wherever he goes, then this little guy will leap to his favorite spot on the couch where he loves to watch what is going on or cuddle up next to you. Sleeping arrangements have been in a crate in his foster family bedroom but Campbell would probably love to sleep in a bed with his people since he’s a great snuggle bunny. During the day, he’ll curl up with his foster Cavalier sibling to nap since they get along well but he’s still a bit shy with their black lab as he’s probably never been around bigger dogs. Campbell is also a quiet, well-behaved car rider while in his crate.  

Campbell has had all his required shots and preventatives and also had a dental with 9 teeth extractions. He can chew just fine and since coming into Rescue, has developed a beautiful soft ruby red coat from eating much healthier food. Campbell was recently diagnosed with a very mild heart murmur but needs no medication at this time. It’s recommended that he have an echocardiogram within the next 6-12 months to monitor any changes. He also has a small (dime-sized) umbilical hernia that isn’t causing any issues with his health.
