Charlie in North Bend, WA
Charlie is a sweet black-and-tan boy born January 5, 2025, and he came to Cavalier rescue USA because his owner was having trouble caring for him due to their own health difficulties.
Charlie is your typical puppy. He is incredibly curious, happy-go-lucky, energetic, outgoing, playful, and oh so sweet. In his foster home, Charlie loves to play with the fellow canines in the house, and he loves to be a part of all the action by following his foster parents around. He enjoys and has so much fun with toys. Charlie loves being outside, whether that’s darting back and forth across the yard or enjoying strolls on leash.
Charlie is also super outgoing and loves to meet new people. He also does well when meeting new dogs, though use caution, as some dogs can be put off by his exuberant puppy energy even though Charlie means well. Charlie isn’t the cuddliest guy, but he is very affectionate with the kisses and always wants to be close by. He will 100% be your little shadow.
Like any puppy, Charlie’s curiosity leads him to typical puppy mischief, and he does require closer supervision currently. Charlie has tendencies to go after things that aren’t his toys to chew on (he loves shoes), and he also snatches things up in the yard or on walks. And like any puppy, Charlie has had the occasional accident in his foster home, but if he is let out often to potty, he does pretty well for his house training!
Charlie has the perfect bill of health! During his stay with Cavalier Rescue USA, he’s been neutered, and he is up to date on his vaccines. He weighs 17 lbs.
As far as his manners and training, Charlie does get very excited and tends to jump on you, and personal space isn’t exactly in his vocabulary just yet. He can sit very well, and he is learning how to lay down and how to wait for his food. When his foster parents need to leave the house, Charlie does incredibly well in his crate and sometimes prefers sleeping in it at night. Overall, Charlie is a very good little dog who still needs some guidance like any puppy his age.
Charlie’s foster family feels that the perfect home for this happy boy would be with a family that can take on his energy with lots of walks and play, and continue on with his puppy training and manners. Also, a fully fenced and secure yard as he loves to be outside, and a home preferably with another dog as he enjoys canine companionship and playing! They also feel that Charlie would do great with gentle children over 10 years old; however, they think Charlie would be too much of a puppy for cats.
If you feel that your family would be the perfect match for Charlie and you live within reasonable driving distance of his foster home, please submit an application (if you haven’t previously).
