Chelsea in Highland Park, IL
Hi! My name is Chelsea and I am the sweetest Blenheim you’ll ever meet! I was given to Cavalier Rescue USA by my breeder who wanted the perfect forever home to be found for me. I am 6-years-old, born 8-15-2020, and have been told that I have the most soulful eyes and stunning chestnut and white colored Blenheim coat.

All I want in life is to share my love with my people. I love nothing more than cuddling on the couch next to my foster parents or trying to climb up onto my foster dad’s lap while he works. I can’t be close enough! I have a calm personality and a gentle temperament, but I bark at first when I’m left alone or when I’m on neighborhood watch duty. Sometimes I bark at new people I meet but once I know them, I love them all.

My Cavalier foster brother and sister have taught me many new things in my foster home. I like other dogs (I have never been around cats), but I’m fine being an only child as long as I’m not left alone too much. I love my foster parents the most so if I can get all of the attention, I would enjoy being an only child. I like new people I meet, but I can be shy at first. I feel comfortable around older, respectful children, but younger children’s movements and loud noises frighten me, so I would be best in a home with no children or children 10 and older that are gentle and dog-savvy. I thrive in a calm household without a lot of noise and chaos.

In just a short amount of time I have learned to walk on a leash wearing a harness and I enjoy going for walks around the quiet neighborhood with my Cavalier foster brother and sister. I’m still learning to potty on leash so I will need a physically fenced backyard in which to do my business. I also really enjoy exploring my foster parents’ fenced yard, so I would love to have my own safe yard in my forever home.

I am fully housetrained on a schedule and I can hold it all night. I sleep in a crate in the bedroom near my foster parents, but I would LOVE to be able to sleep in the big bed with my new person as being physically close is important to me. Did I mention I love cuddling? I do not like being left alone, and will let my foster parents know by barking/whining to show my dismay when they dare to leave the house. I would like someone that is home most of the time so I am not left alone often because I love my people oh so much!

I am a very healthy girl! Have a clear heart, sound knees and I have recently undergone a spay, dental, am up to date on core vaccines, heartworm/flea/tick prevention and am microchipped.
