Chester in Dallas, TX

Meet Winchester, Affectionately Known as Chester!

If you’re looking for a devoted best friend who wants nothing more than to love and be loved, Chester may be the perfect match for you.

Chester is a sweet, cuddly, happy-hearted boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. At-5-years-old (birthday 8/13/21), he has the perfect balance of playful energy and affectionate companionship. His favorite place is right by his person’s side, whether he’s following you around the house, relaxing nearby, or snuggling up for some quality cuddle time. Chester forms strong bonds with his people and will reward your love with unwavering loyalty and devotion.

He came from a small breeder who had health issues and could no longer care for him. Since coming into foster care, Chester has settled in beautifully. He adores his foster mom and gets along well with his foster brother, a fellow Blenheim Cavalier. He is truly a loving little companion who thrives on attention, affection, and being part of the family.

Chester is potty trained, although he may occasionally have an accident when he becomes especially excited or nervous. We are hopeful this will continue to improve following his neuter and as he gains confidence in his forever home. He is also crate trained and already knows simple commands like “sit” and “come.” This smart, eager-to-please boy loves making his people happy and has so much potential to continue blossoming with patience, guidance, and positive reinforcement.

Chester received a neuter and dental. He is also up to date on core vaccines, microchipped, and on heartworm prevention. He did come with an ear infection and parasites that he has been treated for. He is heart clear!

While Chester is incredibly loving at home, the outside world can sometimes feel overwhelming to him. When he encounters unfamiliar people or dogs while on leash, he may bark or whine because he’s feeling nervous and unsure. Chester is still learning that he’s safe and doesn’t need to be afraid. With a patient adopter who understands that confidence takes time to build, he will continue making wonderful progress.

Because Chester can be fearful around children, he is seeking a forever home without young kids where he can feel safe, relaxed, and secure. His ideal home would be a quieter household with a fenced yard where he can safely sniff, explore, and enjoy the simple pleasures of being a dog.

Chester has so much love to give and is just waiting for someone special to see what a wonderful companion he truly is. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow, a cuddle buddy, and a best friend who will greet you with joy every day, Chester could be the missing piece of your family.
