Chester in Tulsa, OK
Are you looking for a love sponge, velcro Cavalier with a lot of love to share and the time to do it? Then Chester is your boy! He is approximately 9 years old and was rescued from a breeding facility where he had minimal contact with people. He is a Blenheim Cavalier with a deep chestnut color and weighs 20 pounds. He has been microchipped, neutered, and had a dental cleaning with a few extractions.

Chester was extremely scared and skittish when he first arrived and everything was new and different. It has taken awhile to get him to come to his foster humans when they hold out their hand to pet him. Now he wants to be on the couch with them and follows them wherever they go in the house. He gets startled at unexpected noises or quick movements but has made great progress.

This boy doesn’t miss a meal and will enthusiastically tell you to hurry up when preparing his dish! He gets along well with other Cavaliers in the home and loves a fenced yard to run and get out his zoomies! He may be a little older, but you wouldn’t know it by his energy. He has done well with kids when the grandkids visit. He does not know how to use a leash with collar or harness yet.

Chester apparently didn’t have an opportunity to jump or climb stairs. He will not jump on the couch but will put his front paws on it and wait for you to scoop him up by his hind end. Pet stairs have been tried to no avail yet. It has been discovered that Chester loves anything paper from a receipt to a cardboard box. It is best to keep these things away from eye level and close off doors when you leave the house.

Chester was diagnosed with a heart murmur and prescribed daily medication that he will need for the rest of his life. Xrays showed a slightly enlarged heart but no outward symptoms of heart difficulty. He has a lot of life left to share with the right person. All other systems are good to go including great structure, ears, and vision.

Housetraining is going very well. It is best to go outside with him and make sure he has taken care of business before coming in. This is particularly important before he eats breakfast. He likes for you to go out with him and will come back to the door without leaving the porch if you don’t. Chester is a very sweet boy with big eyes that look at you intently. He would be a great companion for someone who is home a lot and has time to sit with him and give him the attention he has missed out on. Is that you?
