CJ in Kenmore, WA

CJ is an 11-year-old female Blenheim Cavalier. She’s a sweet, gentle soul and looking for a special person/family to show her kindness and unconditional love. Sadly, before coming into rescue, she hadn’t had either for a long time and was very mistreated.

CJ spends most of her time resting in her kennel, but she really perks up when out exploring in the yard. This sweet girl likes gentle head and neck scratches, but she doesn’t seek out attention. She likes short walks around the neighborhood but needs you to carry her outside to get started. A lot of things are scary for CJ, and so she’s happiest at home where it’s quiet and she feels safe.

CJ has been gaining weight and is feeling better since getting much-needed dental work done. She’s been diagnosed with a grade 5 heart murmur by the cardiologist and started on a twice daily heart medication (pimobendan). She’s a small Cavalier and weighs about 14 lbs. Her beautiful Cavalier coat is growing back in and she’s looking much healthier. She’s house trained with regular breaks and will let you know she needs to go out by pacing around.

CJ will do best in an adult home since kids can be a scary for her. She needs a fenced yard so she doesn’t have to go potty on leash, and so she can enjoy her safe outdoor space. She’s looking for a special home with a lot of patience and people who understand dogs that are anxious and slow to trust. She’s okay with gentle-natured dogs of similar size.

CJ is currently being fostered with another female Cavalier from the same home. While the girls are not particularly bonded (don’t snuggle, follow each other around, etc.), they could be placed together should a family like to adopt them both.
