Coa Coa in Chapel Hill, NC

Raise your hand if you have ever been personally victimized by an adorable dog? When they are just so cute it isn’t fair? Meet Glen Coa Coa in North Carolina. Coa Coa came to Cavalier Rescue USA when his owner no longer had the time to dedicate to to him. Coa Coa is a 1 year old, neutered male born 06/30/2025. Coa Coa is a puppy, through and through. He hasn’t had the most consistent training throughout his life, but he’s eager for your love and praise. You just need to tell him what to do and he’s happy to learn. His manners are much improved since moving in with his foster family. 

Coa Coa loves to play, almost as much as he loves to curl up on your lap and snuggle. He wants to be near you all the time. If you look up synonyms for Cavalier in the thesaurus, you’ll find “Velcro dog”. Coa Coa is the perfect example of that. He’s looking for his person. Could that be you?

Coa Coa does great with other dogs. He plays non-stop with his foster brother who is a one year old English Toy Spaniel. He loves sleeping with you at night. I know that you might think you need space on the bed, but Coa Coa knows that space is really for him. 

It seems like Coa Coa has never walked with a collar before. He much prefers his chest harness. This is important so he doesn’t slip out of his collar! But once he realizes his harness is going on so he can go for walk, he’s as excited as a little kid on Christmas morning. He loves the morning walks to school with his foster mom’s 6 year old son. They were fast friends. Coa Coa grew up around kids and is very kind and patient with them. Coa Coa has not had any interactions with cats. 

Coa Coa is not fully potty trained yet. He has been receptive to training in his foster home, but still requires frequent potty breaks and needs to be supervised (much like any other young puppy learning where to do his business). His adopter needs to be aware of this. There could potentially be a regression during the transition to his new home. 

Coa Coa also wasn’t crate trained when he arrived to his foster home. He has made huge strides with this! He will now go in his crate for a biscuit. Coa Coa also eats in his crate because his foster brothers will try and steal his food (you know how food motivated Cavaliers can be!).

Coa Coa has a clean bill of heath from his vet and is up to date on vaccines as well as flea/tick/heartworm prevention. 

Coa Coa would be happy with another like-sized dog, but also has lived as an only dog before. He needs someone who is home most of the day. Coa Coa gets lonely when left alone for too long. He needs a home with a securely fenced in yard for him to run and play safely in. He also needs someone committed to taking him for daily walks. He would love an active family, maybe even with dog savvy kids to play with.
