Coco in Deering, NH
Are you cuckoo for Coco? Well, probably not. At least, not yet. But that’s only because you haven’t met her! Coco is the sweetest, gentlest companion a human could hope for. She has an easy confidence, a calm joyful energy, and such an adoring gaze that you’ll think “Why don’t more creatures look at me this way?” She is always happy to see you and will follow you from room to room, not asking for anything but to be near you.

Coco is a 10-year-old, spayed, female, Blenheim Cavalier born June 3, 2016. She came into foster care after a change in her family’s situation left little time for the pup. She is house trained, asking to go out and taking care of her business without supervision. She does not need much exercise and is content to casually amble around the fenced yard. She does enjoy going for the occasional walk – though she will certainly let you know when the walk is over by turning around to go home!

Coco gets along well with other gentle dogs and cats and would be happy as an only dog or in the company of a mellow pet. Other things that Coco likes in life: not being left alone, eating, playing with her toys, being in a calm atmosphere, gentle people (including strangers and children), treats, perching on pillows, sleeping, jumping up onto furniture, going to the groomer. Even riding in the car is nice; almost anything can be perfect if shared with her people. She will occasionally ask to be picked up (by sitting in front of you and gazing up hopefully) or sit on your lap for scratches and gentle companionship.

Coco is in very good health for her age and breed. At 16 lbs, she is currently at an appropriate weight, though has a tendency to gain weight if given as many treats as she asks for! She has no sign of heart murmur or any other congenital conditions. Coco’s eyes and ears are appropriately clear for her age with no apparent issues. She had extensive dental work while in foster care, including a thorough cleaning and 8 extractions. One knee has a grade 2 luxating patella, meaning it can slide out of place but will fix itself, and doesn’t need any particular care other than keeping her at a healthy weight. Although she can go up and down stairs, she would be safer and more comfortable in a home with few or no steps. She takes a joint supplement for her knees, as well as a fiber supplement to help maintain anal gland health. Regular gland expression (every 6 weeks) by a vet or groomer is needed to avoid problems. Coco is microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccinations and preventatives. She is a spry, healthy, and confident girl!

Coco has much to give: affection, joy, calm energy, and constant companionship. She is easy to care for and even easier to love. If reading this has made you cuckoo for Coco puff, then you just may be the lucky person she chooses!
