Meet Cookie – Your Shy, Sweet Snugglebug! Looking for a gentle soul to share quiet days and cozy evenings? Meet Cookie, a 4-year-old tricolor Cavalier born 3/13/21 who has a beautiful coat with unique markings and a heart full of love waiting to blossom. 

Cookie is 19 pounds of sweetness who’s still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. She’s a shy and skittish girl who thrives in calm environments. Once she trusts you, though, she’s the ultimate cuddle companion, content to snooze by your side all day or engage in a light romp with other dogs. She’s low to medium energy and doesn’t need much more than a soft bed, some gentle affection, and maybe a toy or two (which she loves to hoard in her bed like treasures). 

She’s still getting the hang of house training and does best when she’s not expected to go out alone. Leashes scare her, so she’ll need a physically securely fenced yard where she can safely explore at her own pace. She’s crate-trained and sleeps happily in her crate but would prefer to be snuggled up in bed with her family at night. 

Cookie loves other dogs and would likely benefit from a confident canine sibling to show her the ropes. She hasn’t met cats, and she’s quite nervous around children and unfamiliar adults, especially teens, around whom she tends to bark and retreat. Because of this, she’s best suited to a quiet home, a retired person, a single woman, or a couple with a calm lifestyle would be perfect. 

She’s recently spayed, microchipped, had a dental cleaning, and is up to date on all her vaccines. A minor, asymptomatic heart arrhythmia was detected during her checkup, but it requires no treatment and doesn’t slow her down one bit. 

Cookie may take time to trust, but once she does, you’ll be rewarded with soft cuddles, gentle prancing feet, and a loyal heart. She’s starting to discover toys and playtime and is happiest when snuggled close to her person.
