Cooper in Little Rock, AR
Introducing Cooper, a seven-year-old sweet, calm and easygoing guy looking for a forever family to love. Cooper was born on May 18, 2018.
Cooper is the perfect Southern Gentleman. He has good manners, is super quiet and calm, and gets along with everyone. His previous owner had to surrender Cooper and his companion, and contacted us to find them the best new homes.
Cooper is a beautiful Blenheim weighing 24.5 pounds. He is quite tall for a Cavalier. He uses steps to get up on his favorite chair where he can snuggle with his foster Mom. Being a true Cavalier, Cooper just wants to follow his foster Mom everywhere. Cooper lies under her desk while she is working, and sleeps in a comfy chair in her bedroom at night.
Cooper is the easiest dog to have around and never complains, even though he has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and has a luxating patella. In spite of his joint issues, Cooper gets around just fine, but does exhibit some discomfort occasionally. He has started taking joint supplements, which his forever family will need to continue for the rest of his life.
Cooper is good on a leash for short walks, but mostly follows his foster siblings out the doggie door to potty in the fenced-in yard. Cooper would benefit from losing a few pounds, as this would mean less stress on his hips and knee. His forever family should feed him low-calorie treats and take him for daily short walks to maintain his mobility and keep his weight in check. Cooper is up-to-date on all his vaccines, is neutered, has a microchip and is on heartworm and flea prevention.
If you really want to make Cooper happy, give him a few “booty scratches” and you’ll be his best buddy! He will come up and nudge you for attention, and move his back end closer so you can get just the right spot. Another endearing trait is his very loud “man-like” snoring. (Click the link below to see and hear.)
His foster Mom thinks it’s the cutest (and funniest) thing.
While Cooper gets along with her Cavaliers, he doesn’t really bond with them. Cooper would be fine as the only dog in his forever home.
If you want the perfect companion to love, then Cooper is the pup for you! This refined Southern Gentleman will give as much (or more) in return. He only requires that you be home with him most of the day, help with his weight loss and care for him to live a pain-free, happy life.
If you think you are the right family for Cooper, please fill out our online application if you haven’t already. Then email Whitney Barron, wbarronp@gmail.com, to alert her of your interest in Cooper.
