Copper in Nashville, TN

Meet Copper, a seven-year-old Blenheim boy born on November 18, 2018.

Copper has a gentle soul and a deeply loyal heart.

Weighing twenty-one pounds, Copper is the kind of companion who bonds closely with his person and will happily follow you from room to room once that trust is built. He has a calm, easy-going nature and so much quiet love to give to the right forever home.

Copper came into rescue after an unexpected loss in his family. Despite big changes in his world, he has remained incredibly sweet, patient and steady. In foster care, he has shown himself to be a polite, affectionate little gentleman who values companionship above all else.

Copper isn’t interested in toys or playtime, but he truly enjoys simply being near his people. Whether he’s lounging nearby or trotting behind you through the house, Copper is happiest when he knows he’s included.

Copper is wonderfully well-mannered. He is fully house-trained, crate-trained and completely comfortable when left alone, with no signs of separation anxiety. He gets along well with other dogs but is not interested in playing, so he would do best with a calm canine sibling. He is extremely gentle and patient, making him a great fit for homes with or without children.

His favorite parts of the day are his walks and car rides. Copper thrives on a few 15-20 minute walks each day. Walks provide him with mental stimulation and help keep his potty routine right on track.

He also absolutely loves running errands and going for rides. He proudly sits in his booster seat and watches the world go by like a seasoned co-pilot.

When he’s home, he’s an excellent napper …with one hilarious twist: Copper snores like a tiny old man. His loud, rumbling snores are guaranteed to make you laugh!

While in foster care, Copper bravely battled a very aggressive UTI (urinary tract infection) for several months and has now made a full recovery. He is otherwise in good health, neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on his vaccines and recently had a dental cleaning.

Copper does have symptoms of Syringomyelia and takes daily pain medication to keep him comfortable. He will need to remain on this medication for the rest of his life.

Copper would thrive in a home that can provide daily walks, regular companionship and plenty of cozy downtime. He doesn’t need a high-energy lifestyle. His favorite activities are simple: strolls, car rides, naps and being close to his person.

If there is anyone who deserves to be spoiled and treated like the star of the household, it’s Copper. He will repay that love with lifelong loyalty and affection.
