Meet Elizabeth, a delightful young Cavalier with a heart full of love! Born on November 15, 2024, Elizabeth is an affectionate little girl whose favorite place in the world is wherever her people are. Whether she’s curled up beside you on the couch or snoozing nearby in her dog bed, she’s happiest simply being close to those she loves.

Elizabeth also enjoys the company of other friendly dogs and would thrive in a home where she has a canine companion or two. She’s playful, curious, and always interested in what’s happening around her. After a fun burst of play or a few joyful zoomies around the yard, she’s just as content to settle in for a quiet cuddle.

Elizabeth came to rescue after living first with a breeder and then briefly with an owner who loved her but struggled with house training. Since joining her foster home, she’s made wonderful progress. With the guidance of the resident dogs and a consistent routine, she quickly learned to signal when she needs to go outside. Like many young dogs that are newly house trained, she’ll need a refresher and supervision as she adjusts to a new home, so her adopter should be willing to continue her training with patience and consistency.

She enjoys spending time outdoors when the weather is pleasant and will need a securely fenced yard where she can safely explore and play. Because of her limited early experiences, Elizabeth is still uncertain about walking on a leash, but with gentle encouragement and positive reinforcement, she’s expected to become more confident with leash walking over time.

Although generally confident and well-balanced, Elizabeth can occasionally be startled by unfamiliar sights or loud noises. She may bark briefly when surprised, but once she has a chance to investigate, she quickly relaxes. Her resilience and eagerness to learn make her a wonderful companion.

Elizabeth is spayed, current on all vaccinations, and weighs 22 pounds. She could benefit from losing a couple of pounds to reach her ideal weight. She has a very soft Grade 1 heart murmur, but her veterinarian is not concerned, as she has no symptoms and is otherwise a healthy young dog. She also takes a daily fish oil supplement to help with mild dry skin.

Elizabeth’s ideal forever home will include:

• Another friendly dog (or two) for companionship.
• A securely fenced yard.
• Someone who is home most of the time.
• A family committed to continuing her successful house-training routine.
• Children age 10 or older, as younger children may be overwhelming for her.

In return, Elizabeth will reward her family with endless affection, loyal companionship, and plenty of snuggles. She has all the qualities that make Cavaliers so special—a gentle heart, a loving spirit, and an unwavering desire to be part of the family.
