Elizabeth in Tucson, AZ
Meet Elizabeth, a total love bug born 11/15/24. This precious girl loves being with her people and with other friendly dogs. She is cuddly and affectionate and wants to be near you all the time, whether it’s next to you on the couch or lying in a dog bed nearby.

Elizabeth originally came from a breeder and recently went to an owner who loved her, but struggled with house training. With other dogs to show her the ropes and a structured house training regimen, she quickly caught on and now signals to go out. She enjoys being outside in the yard when it’s not too toasty and will need a fenced in yard at her new home. Given her background, she’s reticent on leash, but comfort with this will come over time and with gentle training,

She is curious and when there is activity, she’s eager to check it out. That said, she can initially be a little timid if there is something new to her that is loud or surprising. Once she investigates the situation, she’s relaxed and happy. She has a nice, well balanced energy level, happy to play and zoom around but also content to relax and chill out when you do.

Elizabeth is spayed and up to date on vaccines. She weighs 22 lbs and could probably benefit from losing a couple. She has a very soft grade 1 heart murmur, but the vet isn’t concerned about this as she has no symptoms and presents as a healthy young dog. She does take a fish oil capsule daily for dry skin.

Elizabeth will be happiest with a person or family that has another friendly dog or two, a fenced in yard, and someone home most of the time, so these are requirements for her adoption.
We’d expect some regression on house training in a new home, so her adopter needs to be comfortable with house training and the techniques that make this easier. She will flourish in a home that actively engages her, where she can get in lots of cuddle and playtime. She’d likely be hesitant around young kids, so we’d be unlikely to adopt her to a family where there were children under the age of 10.
