Here is Farrah with her new family…

Farrah is a sweet and gentle tricolor girl who is 5 years-old, born 5/26/2018. Her prior life was being a breeder dog in a large operation. She has blossomed in her foster setting and is energetic and curious.

Farrah has fit in well with her foster family of 2 adults and an older small dog. She loves hanging out with her family or exploring in her big back yard. Farrah loves to follow her humans around the house and yard but has not come to understand leashes yet though she is working on it. She is most comfortable on hard surfaces due to her past environment but is slowly getting more comfortable with running in the grass.

She is also working on house training, and this will be work that will need to continue to develop proper indoor conduct. Having the opportunity to go out every couple of hours to establish that habit will be important. She has begun to learn basic voice and hand commands and does quite well with ‘sit’. She is a quick and eager learner and will continue to do well with a patient forever family willing to work on good habits.

Farrah is a fit 18 pounds which is a good healthy weight for her build. She has had a full medical work up and has a healthy heart. She is up to date on vaccination, is microchipped, and is on heartworm preventatives. She has also been spayed and had a dental where she got a couple of teeth extracted. She now has pearly teeth and is a healthy girl. She also has a good appetite.

When Farrah came to her foster family, she was quite shy and uncertain of humans but has quickly adapted to a loving home. She loves being with her family and is not fond of being separated from them. She loves to snuggle next to her humans. She is not fond of crates. She is also a bit of a guard dog and will always let everyone know if there are strangers in the yard or lightning from a storm nearby!

Farrah has done well with her foster family’s younger gentle grandsons and is always very interested in what is going on around her. Her ideal environment will be one where there is someone with her most of the time as she does not like being alone for long periods.
