Franklin in Northville, MI

Love me, love me, love me! This is the anthem for handsome Franklin, a 3-year old male Blenheim Cavalier. Franklin is the kind of dog who instantly steals your heart the moment you meet him. Weighing 22 pounds, he is a big blend of sweet, gentle, and devoted. Whether curled up beside you, following you from room to room, or greeting you with excitement after a short time away, Franklin lives for connection. He came into rescue through no fault of his own when his family could no longer care for him after a divorce. He is now ready to give his whole heart to a new forever home.

Franklin has a calm, patient temperament and truly loves people. He warms up quickly to visitors and has experience being around children ages 2 to 10 in his previous home. He thrives on companionship and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the day. Franklin is happiest when he is near his person, whether that means sitting in your lap or simply resting close by. He enjoys being the center of attention, but he is also respectful of space and can be content to relax quietly at your side.In his foster home, Franklin has excellent house manners.

He is fully housetrained with no accidents when given regular potty breaks. He is crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night in his crate next to his foster mom’s bed. He also stays comfortably in his crate when she runs errands. His foster mom works from home, so he hangs out during the workday in her office on his special chair or in his doggie bed. Franklin is not a big barker, though he will happily let you know when he is excited to see you.

Franklin enjoys the simple things in life. He loves being outside, going for walks, exploring, and especially receiving belly rubs. He is a great leash walker and would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can safely run and explore. Although he is affectionate and adaptable, Franklin has an alpha-dog temperament and will do best as the only pet in the home so he can soak up all the people love and attention. He can get overly excited around other dogs, although he would benefit from some monitored play date with other Cavaliers or similar size/temperament dogs.

After a recent vet visit, Franklin proved to be in excellent health and just had his teeth cleaned. He is slightly overweight, but with regular exercise, good diet, and a balanced routine, he is already on track to hit his target weight. He is up-to-date with his vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped.

Franklin is truly a special dog who will bring warmth, companionship, and unconditional love into the right home. If you are looking for a loyal companion to be by your side, Franklin may be the perfect match for you.
