Ginny in Aliso Viejo, CA
Ginny is a beautiful Blenheim Cavalier born May 13, 2023, who came into rescue as a breeder release. Her early life lacked the comfort and kindness every dog deserves, and it shows in her soulful, searching eyes. Ginny joined Cavalier Rescue USA extremely shut down and fearful, but she has made wonderful progress in her foster home. She is growing more confident every day. She is now ready to leave those difficult years behind and begin a new chapter built on patience, stability, and gentle love.

Ginny is extremely shy and sensitive, and her adjustment will take time until she learns to feel safe on her own terms. She is still decompressing from the many changes in her life and will need a calm, predictable routine to help her build confidence. When frightened or overwhelmed, Ginny quietly retreats rather than reacting, making a peaceful environment essential for her emotional well-being.

In her foster home, Ginny has shown remarkable growth. While she finds safety in her crate, she also feels confident spending time in the living room with her foster mom. She is extremely food motivated and shows her courage daily by accepting treats from coworkers when accompanying her foster mom to work. Ginny has developed a special bond with her Cavalier foster brother and foster mom, often following them around the house as their little shadow. She thrives in their company and would do well with another calm, confident dog in her new home to show her the ropes.

Ginny has been living peacefully with two cats. While they are not snuggle-buddies, they comfortably coexist in the same space. She is learning that gentle pets and affection are safe and has even started to cuddle with her foster mom on the couch.

Leash training is in progress, and Ginny is learning to explore safely while on leash. She does best with a front-clip harness, which helps her feel more secure. Potty training is also a work in progress. She would thrive in a home with a secure backyard where she can be on a regular schedule, as she does not alert when she needs to go. At night, Ginny prefers to sleep on a cozy bed in her crate. If she falls asleep before you, you might hear her adorable little snores as she cuddles with her Lambchop.

Ginny is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and in good health. She is a quiet, gentle soul who will blossom in a home that celebrates every small win. For a patient adopter who understands that healing takes time, Ginny offers the opportunity to witness a beautiful transformation as a shy, uncertain girl slowly learns that she is safe.
