Harley in Loveland, CO

Meet Harley, a well-behaved, Cavalier lover boy, who will steal your heart with his first hello. Harley is a gentle soul who loves everybody. He gets along great with other dogs and cats. Harley loves playing with his foster brother who also is a Cavalier.

Harley was born on August 17, 2018, making him 7 years/10 months old. He is an active boy! When outdoors he will sniff and search everywhere for the squirrel that just might be hanging out in the yard. He would enjoy a home with a fenced yard. Harley loves to go on short walks. Harley will spin in circles excitedly when he knows he is going for a ride. He is a great passenger and lays down and sleeps while traveling.

Harley came to us because his elderly owners could no longer take care of him. His living situation had become stressful and he had begun to urinate in the house. Harley has been on a remedial training program while in foster care and is back to having good house training and has been accident-free for a month now.

A heart murmur was noticed during his intake exam. Since he needed to go under anesthesia for a dental, he had a cardiology exam and heart echo. Harley has Degenerative Heart Disease with a grade II out of VI heart murmur and is at stage B1. He needs no heart medications at this time. He should have a follow-up cardiologist visit in 9-12 months unless concerns are noticed before then. After his dental, Harley only has three teeth left. He is eating soft food for the next couple of weeks.

Harley LOVES FOOD!! Harley is very food motivated but his love for food put a few too many pounds on him. He came to us weighing nearly 29 pounds, now weighs 27 pounds now with a goal weight of 23 pounds.

Harley would do best in a home where someone is home most of the time. He gets along well with other dogs and cats so a home with other animals would be great. He would love to have a fenced yard. Another small friendly playmate would be welcome, but he was an only pet most of his life.

I have never had such a well behaved, gentle soul, and loving dog in my entire fostering career.  Harley will be one of the best things that will ever happen for you.
