Jace in Rolla, MO

Update 6-16-24: We’ve received several promising applications for this pup so aren’t taking more for now. Thank you!

Jace is our very first experience with fostering, and he has been delightful and charming. His first birthday is coming up on June 30, 2024.

Jace is a Black and Tan Cavalier who came to Cavalier Rescue USA from a large-scale breeding operation. It was a unique, poignant privilege to see him scamper on the grass under the big sky for what seemed like his first time.

As you might, expect he is still tentative with new people and new situations; however, we have been pleasantly startled by his adaptability and openness! He’s a quick study, learning almost immediately from his foster brothers to potty in the yard with surprisingly few accidents, and to fetch the ball.

When he initially arrived he would collect all the clothing he could reach and build himself a protective nest. His nesting has subsided but he does still love collecting items. He is mischievous but rarely destructive! He loves chew toys of all sorts. One quirk we must mention is that Jace sometimes perceives people and animals on television as potential intruders in the home and barks accordingly.

Jace is completely crate trained. He will stay contentedly overnight in his crate, but relishes joining the whole pack in bed for an uninterrupted night of sleep. We’ve begun leaving him uncrated in the house for up to two hours at a time while away and no mishaps yet!

Jace is soulful and gentle. He has two Cavalier foster siblings, a neighbor pup who visits often and he’s visited in homes with children and cats. He loves playing all over the big fenced yard so a fenced yard is essential. He’s working on leash walking, sit and come. He loves a car ride.

Jace is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative and on preventatives for heartworm, fleas, and ticks. He is a healthy little guy.

If you are the right family for Jace, please submit an adoption application (if you haven’t already) and then email Sarah Noebels at cavalierrescuesarah@gmail.com so she knows of your interest.
