Jack in Whittier, CA
Say “hello” to Jack! Jack is a one-and-a-half-year-old Blenheim Cavalier with personality to spare! Bursting with energy and charm, Jack is a pint-sized, nine pound pup who brings smiles and joy to everyone he meets.
Released to rescue from a commercial breeder, Jack has adapted quickly to the comforts of his foster home. He’s a happy-go-lucky little guy who approaches each day with enthusiasm.
Jack has been neutered, microchipped and is up to date on vaccinations. Jack has also successfully recovered from an ear infection along with some mild gastrointestinal issues.
Jack is truly the life of the party. He will shower you with kisses and melt your heart with his signature head tilt.
Since Jack hasn’t received any formal training, he’s slowly learning to walk on a leash and explore the world. A secure yard is a must, giving Jack a safe space to roam as he continues to build confidence. He would thrive in a basic training class, which would help form a strong bond with his new family and lay the groundwork for a lifetime of good behavior.
Jack sleeps soundly in his crate and stays comfortably inside if you leave for a short time. He is proficient with potty pads when indoors. While Jack is still working on his house training, he is eager to learn, and responds well to positive reinforcement. High value treats are a plus for getting Jack to focus on expectations.
Jack’s future family will need to be patient and committed to helping him mature into a well-mannered companion. Setting clear boundaries, offering guidance, and providing mental stimulation are the keys to his success.
Due to his exuberant personality and tendency to jump, Jack would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children. His playful puppy antics, like stealing a shoe or grabbing household items are all part of his charm, but do require supervision and a safe environment.
At the end of the day, or even for a midday break, there is nothing Jack likes more than to be cradled in his human’s arms for a peaceful nap. He is very much a Velcro Cavalier who always wants to be near his people, making him an ideal work from home buddy.
Another equally playful canine companion would be a wonderful influence and help boost Jack’s self-confidence.
