Jasper in Erie, CO

Jasper is a playful, affectionate 1.5-year-old Blenheim Cavalier with a big personality and an even bigger heart. At that wonderful “still-a-puppy-but-growing-up-fast” age, he brings the perfect blend of goofy energy and classic Cavalier snuggles. One minute he’s chasing a tennis ball or proudly parading around with a toy, and the next he’s curled up beside you on the couch, content just being close to his people.

Jasper is confident, social, and absolutely loves meeting new people. He greets visitors with excitement and enthusiasm, ready to make a new best friend in seconds. He isn’t shy and adapts quickly to new environments. He adores other dogs and makes friends easily during playdates or visits to friends’ homes. Because he enjoys canine companionship so much, another small, friendly, playful dog in his forever home would be a wonderful bonus.

In true young-dog fashion, Jasper has bursts of energy throughout the day. He loves tennis balls, bones, and toys, and he can impress you with his vertical jump when curiosity strikes (kitchen counters, beware!). He has a hilarious habit of chasing his own tail when the mood hits. Despite his playful side, he settles beautifully when his foster family is working from home and enjoys relaxing nearby.

Jasper is house-trained and has had no accidents in foster care. He quickly learned to ring the bells next to the door to the yard when he needs to go outside and take care of business.

Jasper sleeps quietly through the night and will let you know in the morning when he’s ready to go outside. He knows “sit” and is making good progress on “come” and “stay”. He is eager to learn more, especially with treats involved!

He loves walks but he is still working on leash manners. He can bark at other dogs (and occasionally people) during walks and tends to zigzag with enthusiasm. Continued positive training will help him grow into a more polished walking companion. Because of this, a securely fenced yard is highly recommended so he can burn off energy safely.

Jasper was neutered while in foster care and has recovered well. No health concerns were noted on his intake exam. He is microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and had a negative heartworm test.

What makes Jasper special is how quickly he bonds and makes you feel chosen. He loves other dogs and would enjoy a playful companion, but he could also flourish as the only dog in a home that gives him plenty of attention and toy time. In return, he’ll give you endless affection, laughter, and loyal companionship.
