Leo in Des Moines, IA

This very handsome boy had a hard first year of life living in a commercial breeding facility. He was released to rescue when it was found he wasn’t useful as a stud dog at 15 months.

Leo is now 16 months old and weighs in at 15 pounds. He’s gotten a clean bill of health, had his neuter and is well on his way to acclimating to inside family life. He’s an active boy who loves to run and play, and then cuddle with his peeps. He drags the toys out every morning, plays tug of war with his foster siblings, and seeks out cuddling with his people when done playing. He loves nothing better than lying on his back on your lap, snoring (and we mean snoring).

He’s still working on his house manners, but is getting better every day. Consistency and a dog role model will be helpful. He loves his walks and does well on a leash.

Leo requires a fenced yard and hopefully a calm canine influence in the house. He loves other dogs his size and kids. He gets very excited in new situations and with new people. It takes this young one a bit of time to settle down, but he is doing better as he gets older.
