Lillie in Davis, CA

Meet Lillie, a 3 to 4 year old adorable black and tan girl whose past is a bit of a mystery. She was obtained from animal control. Her past owner had 8 to 10 dogs and maybe was a backyard breeder. Lillie definitely has had a litter or two. Despite her past, she is a loving, cuddly girl who follows you everywhere and is affectionate to everyone in the household. She is quite the athlete, very speedy and agile. She might enjoy agility training.
She is still learning to be an indoor pup.

She doesn’t signal for pottying and has made a few mistakes but does well if kept on a schedule. She gets along well with the other household dogs after the initial meet and greet.

She walks well on the leash and doesn’t bark at passing dogs. She has a playful side and sometimes gets the zoomies. She tosses her Kong into the air and chases it.

Lillie does have a mischievous side. She snatches objects off the coffee table to chew on. She was found on the kitchen table one afternoon. She growls at the dogs on tv and at new dogs that come into her personal space. She doesn’t bark inside but outside she barks at people on the bike path along the fence line.

Lillie is in excellent health. Initially matted and flea ridden, she has been treated and groomed with a short hair cut. Her fur is starting to grow back and she has cute little baby feathers on her legs and tail. She is now on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. She is up to date on her basic vaccinations. She has had a dental and been spayed while in rescue. She had some mild ear infections that have been treated and cleared up. Her heart sounds great with no murmur. This precious pup weighs 17.5.

Lillie would fit into an active household who work from home or could bring her to work and include her on adventures. She could be an only dog or live with another gentle, small dog. She would be fine with older children. She needs a fenced yard. She is not cat tested. She doesn’t do well in the kennel and sleeps on the bed. Her perspective adopter should want a bed buddy.
