Lola in Portland, ME

Lola is a wonderful combination of energy, exuberance and cuddle bug. She loves absolutely everyone she meets, and while in rescue, has developed quite the fan club among the neighborhood kids. She has lots of puppy curiosity, and is so eager to meet her next best friend that she will squeeze through any gap in fencing or dash through any open door to see who she can find. For Lola’s safety, she requires a securely fenced yard, a strong leash, and a family who will stay vigilant for her attempts to escape. In quiet moments, she loves to cuddle on the couch. She will be a great lap warmer this winter! 

Lola has delightful puppy energy and enjoys playing with squeaky toys and chasing tennis balls.  She would love to have another dog of similar size and temperament in the household. She is very eager to take walks, and would benefit from a family who can continue to help her learn not to pull on her leash. Since coming into rescue, Lola has become crate-trained at nighttime….although she would love to sleep in the big bed! Lola knows commands for “sit,”  “stay,” “come” and “drop it.” She is very smart and eager to please, so she could likely learn many more commands. Lola needs someone home most of the day to facilitate and support her training. Puppy classes are highly recommended.

Lola is healthy, up-to-date on vaccinations and preventatives, and has been spayed since coming into rescue. To support her good health and provide mental stimulation, she would benefit from regular outdoor exercise.
