Hi! I’m Maddy. I’m a smart, loving, healthy Tricolor Cavalier with a lot of love to share with my forever family.

I’m seven years old and weigh 16.7 pounds, which is about a pound overweight for my stature.

I came into rescue at seven years old after living in a commercial breeding situation with lots of other dogs. I’m so grateful those days are behind me. I have a whole lot more to learn about being a cherished companion, like that it’s okay to go through doors and jump onto the sofa. My foster Mom says I’m great around other dogs, as well as nice humans, and even the cats in my foster home.

I love my bestie Cavalier friend, and would love if there was another friendly Cavalier in my new home. I have learned a lot in a short time. My foster Mom says I have a sweet temperament and joyful, easygoing demeanor. I’ll do well with calm, older children.

I am really good at going into the crate when my foster Mom has to leave or it’s time to go to bed. I have had zero potty accidents in my foster home, but will need consistent guidance in learning new surroundings.

Now that I’m learning to be a pet, I love to cuddle and be with my humans. I love my dog and cat friends, but mostly prefer the other Cavaliers. I’m crate-trained. I love walks with my human and will go on as many as she wants. I’m really good on the leash, despite not having formal obedience training. I’m quick to learn new commands.

The vet says my health is good! I had a dental cleaning with five teeth removed, got spayed and  microchipped. I am up to date on my vaccines and flea medicine. My ear infections were treated and are healed, and the related hair loss is going away.

I feel great now! I may tend to gain a few more pounds, so diet oversight and regular exercise will help keep me fit and healthy.

I am  gentle, loving and will be a faithful and loyal companion in a short time once you gain my trust.
