Marley in Nashua, NH
Marley, (FKA Charlie) in Nashua, NH, is a smart, affectionate, tricolor Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who was born on September 11, 2024. Marley came to Cavalier Rescue USA due to his owner’s declining health and extended time away from home. Since arriving in foster care, Marley has proven himself to be a well‑adjusted Cavalier who adores people, thrives on companionship, and wants nothing more than to be included in everyday life.

Marley firmly believes that personal space is best shared. If there’s an available lap, it belongs to him, and at bedtime he’s happiest curled up as close to his people as possible. His favorite place is wherever his humans are, preferably with plenty of physical contact. Marley is not shy about voicing his opinion if he feels attention is lacking, and he enthusiastically greets everyone he meets, both people and dogs alike.

Having spent most of his life as an only dog, Marley is now learning how to co-exist with three other dogs in his foster home. He is adjusting well, though he still shows occasional “only child” tendencies, particularly when it comes to sharing attention, toys, or premium couch space. Because of this, Marley would likely be happiest as the only dog in the home. Marley would thrive in most loving home environments as long as he is not left alone for extended periods. An ideal home would have someone around most of the day.

Marley is both house trained and crate trained. He settles nicely in his crate, especially when it’s made cozy with soft bedding and favorite toys. During transitions, he may occasionally mark toys or furniture, so supervision and possibly a temporary belly band could help as he adjusts.
Having spent his life with access to free roam and fenced yards, Marley is still polishing his leash-walking skills. He is making good progress in foster care and would benefit from continued practice, ideally in a home with a fenced yard to continue to provide the freedom he’s accustomed to while reinforcing leash training. Marley has not been introduced to kids or cats as far as we are aware. He does have a propensity to bark & growl at small animals he can see in cages and/or outside.

Marley is a healthy, neutered Cavalier with no known medical concerns and is current on all veterinary care. His biggest quirk is his picky eating – it takes a bit of time for him to settle into an eating “routine”.

For those seeking a devoted, people‑focused companion with gorgeous brown eyes and the cutest freckles on his nose, Marley is ready to offer endless love, loyalty and kisses!
