Marty in Murphy, TX

Marty is a sweet 1-year-old boy and is looking for a forever home. He was born 7/22/24 and came into our care due changing family circumstances. He has adapted quickly to his foster home and fits right in. He has a beautiful, soft coat and a terrific temperament.

Marty wants to be near his people at all times but gets along well with his foster siblings. He lived with a cat previously and with children. He is curious and affectionate. He has easy adjusted to the foster home schedule. He is a cuddler and loves a lap and to be petted. He rides well in the car. He loves his walks and we are working on his leash manners. A yard would be ideal as he loves exploring outside. He still has a few puppy characteristics so can be a bit mischievous. He has a strong desire to chew so will find things if chewing toys are not provided regularly. He does listen well and corrects easily as he wants to please. 

Marty is at his ideal weight at 21 pounds and his appetite is good. He likes dry kibble and treats and is food motivated. He will need to ensure he maintains his current weight with appropriate portions. He is up to date on all vaccinations, was neutered, and microchipped. He has a clean bill of health.

Marty is house trained. He sleeps all night in his crate. 

Marty would be fine with gentle older kids. In foster care, Marty has not met a dog or person he does not like. He gets along with other dogs but can get a little overexcited while playing. He would be fine with or without other dogs. He is a young and active dog. He would be best with an active adopter who is not out of the house for long periods of time.
