Maxie in Aliso Viejo, CA
Meet Maxie, a fun-loving, petite, eight-year-old tricolor Cavalier who takes her job as a professional companion dog very seriously.

In fact, if loving people, supervising her humans, and making friends with everyone she meets were actual jobs, Maxie would be employee of the month every month!
Maxie loves saying hello to everyone on her neighborhood walks, especially the delivery drivers. This girl does not have a shy bone in her body. She has a whole lot of love to give and is always happy to share it with just about anyone willing to accept a little Cavalier affection.

When she’s not out making friends, Maxie enjoys snuggling on her foster Mom’s lap, going for walks with her foster brother, and, naturally, accepting treats for being adorable.

Her absolute favorite activity, however, is going for a car ride!

Maxie also enjoys going to work with her foster Mom, where she happily makes the rounds and introduces herself to all the coworkers. She firmly believes every workplace is improved by the presence of a Cavalier.
Maxie is fairly indifferent to other dogs and cats, and seems to prefer humans of all ages.

Maxie is microchipped. During her time in rescue was brought up to date on her vaccines, received a dental procedure where she lost several teeth and has since healed beautifully.
She does have luxating patellae and a daily joint supplement has helped with her mobility. Maxie is learning to use doggie steps to get onto the couch and bed.

Maxie would thrive as an only dog or with another animal close to her in age and temperament.
She would do best with someone who works from home or is retired, and can appreciate just how committed she is to her companion dog duties.

She is primarily house-trained, with only an occasional overnight accident. Maxie is taken out for a potty break late at night and first thing in the morning.

A crate at night works well for her. Maxie is an enthusiastic snorer, and apparently was loud enough to once shock her foster brother.

Maxie is generally a quiet girl except when it comes to mealtime. When food is involved, she has plenty to say. She gets so excited for breakfast and dinner that she does a series of little spins while waiting for her meal.
She is very food motivated and happily takes her daily joint supplement mixed right into breakfast.

Maxie is the kind of dog who wants to be where her people are. She wants to walk beside you, ride in the car with you, greet your friends, supervise your day, and eventually curl up on your lap and fall asleep.
She isn’t looking for a complicated life, just a loving person or family who will appreciate her sweet, funny personality and give her the companionship she so happily gives in return.

If you’re looking for a devoted little shadow with a big heart, a serious snuggle habit, a passion for car rides, and an occasional sock-stealing streak, Maxie may just be your girl.
