Meet Mindy, a gorgeous, silky Black and Tan Cavalier born on December 29, 2016. Mindy is ready to begin the next chapter of her life. Mindy entered foster care after her years with a small home breeder, who entrusted her to rescue so she could enjoy her golden years in a happy, carefree home.

Mindy settled quickly into her foster home and has shown herself to be a sweet, affectionate girl who wants nothing more than to be the center of your world. True to Cavalier nature, she’s a Velcro pup, following her people from room to room and always ready to give kisses. Whether you’re working from home or just puttering around the house, Mindy is happiest right by your side.

Mindy enjoys exploring outdoors, and will sometimes chat with the neighbor’s dog to announce her presence.

While she loves her time outside, Mindy is still learning leash manners and can be reactive when she sees other dogs on walks. For this reason, a home with a securely fenced yard would be ideal, giving her a safe place to sniff, explore, and play.

Mindy has lived alongside other Cavaliers all her life, and can happily share her home with furry companions. She just needs a little time and patience when meeting new dogs. At first, Mindy will bark to express her uncertainty, but once she feels safe and secure, she settles in and enjoys their company.

Mindy could also thrive as an only dog receiving all your love and attention.

Mindy’s foster Mom proudly reports that Mindy has been a superstar with her potty habits; earning an A+ for no accidents since arriving in care! Mindy is excited to meet new people but can be jumpy at times, so only homes with older, dog-savvy children will be considered. She has not been cat tested.

During her time in foster care, Mindy has been spayed, had a hernia repair, and received a thorough dental cleaning. Mindy has a low-grade heart murmur with no medication needed at this time, however continued monitoring is advised. Now that her medical needs have been taken care of, Mindy is eager to bring joy to her forever family.

At 24 pounds, she is on the larger side for a Cavalier. Mindy has been on a positive weight-loss journey. With measured meals, careful oversight, and regular exercise, she’s been slimming down and regaining her girlish figure. Going forward, continued portion control and daily walks will be important to keep her fit and thriving.

Mindy is a beautiful soul with so much love to give. She’s ready for a forever family who will cherish her, shower her with affection, and help her continue on as a happy, healthy Cavalier.
