Meet Nick, a sweet and handsome Ruby Cavalier, born 12/13/2015, who is ready to be your built-in best friend! Nick’s journey into rescue began after spending years with a breeder who released him to CR-USA so he could experience a carefree life.

With his calm and easygoing nature, Nick is the perfect companion for anyone looking for a loyal little shadow. He loves people and has been wonderful with older children. While he hasn’t been around very young kids, there’s every reason to believe he would be just as kind and accepting. The only thing he’s not fond of are cats. He actually doesn’t even mind the neighborhood squirrel that frequents the backyard of his foster home. 

Potty training has been a breeze for Nick, and he’s as reliable as can be.

At night, Nick prefers to curl up at the base of your bed, though he’ll sometimes move to the floor if he gets too warm. What he really wants most is to be near his people. Whether you’re moving around the house or spending time in the yard, Nick will follow along happily, always ready to keep you company. He is content as long as you don’t leave him for long since he exhibits mild separation anxiety, Nick is low-maintenance, doesn’t ask for fancy toys or beds, and truly finds his greatest joy in simply being loved. 

While in rescue, he had a dental with several extractions. He is up to date on vaccines and received an allergy injection. He takes a daily medication and a joint supplement to help with mild age-related mobility issues. The good news is that as a senior Cavalier, Nick is heart healthy and will often zoom around like a much younger pup. Nick is deaf, however that doesn’t slow him down one bit. He’s a quick learner and is already picking up some hand signals. He weighs 19 lbs.
