Parker in Dallas, TX
Here is Parker with his new mom…

Parker is a beautiful, fluffy Blenheim Cavalier who endured his fair share of suffering. He is eight-years-old and lived his last 15 months in a loving home after his owner rescued him from a puppy mill. He was born with luxating patellas on both legs (dislocated knees) which were painful causing him difficulty walking. His owner was no longer able to care for him and his medical needs, hence, she sadly surrendered him to Cavalier Rescue USA.

Through the generosity of the organization and those who donated the necessary funding for his corrective surgery, Parker is now pain free and adjusting to his new life where he walks uninhibited. He has fully recovered from his surgery and now is able to run and play. His favorite activity is chasing his foster sibling pups and playing with their toys.

Parker remains timid with humans but is slowly emerging from his shell. He recently discovered his voice and now joins the chorus whenever the other pups bark. He is completely house trained never having any accidents inside his foster home.

Since being in foster care, Parker experienced a seizure. He was evaluated by the vet who suggested placing him on anti seizure medication 3 times a day to prevent any future seizures. For the past 6 weeks on the medication, Parker has had no other seizures so should remain on the medication for the rest of his life.

Among Cavaliers, Parker is special. He has a sweet disposition and is very affectionate with his foster siblings. He is comfortable with other dogs but had no exposure to cats or children while in foster care.

Parker will do best in a calm environment as he still is easily startled by sudden movements and loud noises. He will do best in a home with owners who are home most of the time.
