Here is Parker with his new family…

Meet Parker – A Resilient and Loving Soul Looking for His Forever Home

Parker is a beautiful Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a heart as gentle as his gaze. His life hasn’t been easy – he’s endured more than his fair share of hardship. This handsome boy is somewhere between 8 and 11 years old.

The first five years of Parker’s life were spent in a puppy mill, followed by time in private homes. He was born with luxating patellas in both legs (dislocated knees), which caused him significant pain and made walking difficult. When his previous owner could no longer manage his medical needs, she made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him to Cavalier Rescue USA.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of this organization and its donors, Parker received corrective surgery and today, he is pain-free and thriving! He has fully recovered and now enjoys running and playing with his foster siblings. His favorite pastime? Chasing his furry friends and playing with their toys. Parker is heart clear, and his bright, clear eyes sparkle with intelligence.

While Parker is healthy and happy, he has experienced two seizures over five months in foster care. He now takes anti-seizure medication three times daily and will need to remain on this regimen. He is completely house-trained and has never had an accident indoors, though he doesn’t alert when he needs to go out, so he’ll need gentle guidance and regular potty breaks.

Parker’s personality is sweet and gentle. He gets along well with other dogs, though he hasn’t been exposed to cats or children in foster care. Because of his background and timid nature, Parker needs time to build trust. He may retreat when meeting strangers and will likely seek out a safe spot, often a cozy couch, where he can observe and slowly learn to feel secure. This process takes months, not days, so his forever family must be patient and understanding, allowing Parker to adjust at his own pace.

He will thrive in a calm, quiet home, as sudden movements and loud noises can startle him. However, he’s perfectly fine with normal household sounds like TV or conversation. Parker would do best with someone who is home most of the time and with another small dog, as he learns and takes cues from canine companions. For his transition to go smoothly, we’re seeking adopters in the DFW area so his foster mom can assist.

If you think you would be able to provide him a loving, supportive home please email Shelby at shelbynfields@gmail.com to express your interest in this wonderful, special boy.
