Rarity in Kenmore, WA
Rarity is an adorable ruby puppy born in January 2026. She’s so silly and sweet and absolutely loves people and playing. She likes to follow her people into the walk-in shower and trot around in the warm rain! She’s a great traveler and has been to the beach.

Rarity is great in a crate and will sleep the whole night in hers. She’s very quiet and rarely barks. If she wants out, she will rattle her water bowl and spill it everywhere—she thinks this is hilarious and does not mind being wet at all. However, elevators are scary! She’s more than willing to climb the stairs though.

Unfortunately, Rarity has had four seizures since April. After the first two, she had an MRI which confirmed hydrocephalus and an incidental finding of Chiari malformation. Her seizures are currently being managed with medication every 8 hours. While she continues to grow, she will need to follow up with neurology every couple of months to adjust her medications. She may outgrow seizures or it’s possible they may get worse. Currently, she has no other major neurological symptoms.

Rarity’s house training has been challenging. While she does ok with potty pads, she does not yet fully understand going outside. This could be a neurological delay or it could just be her age. She will need patience and guidance as she continues to learn.

She is cat savvy and gets along well with other dogs, though she doesn’t really know how to play with dogs. Her ideal situation would be a home where she is either the only dog or paired with an older, less playful companion. Additionally, due to her seizures, it’s best her new family has someone home or can be with her most of the time.

Rarity is about 11 pounds and will be a taller girl. She is a good eater and just eats on her own schedule. Her adoptive family will need to have her spayed before she’s 9 months old.
