Rarity in Kenmore, WA

Rarity is an adorable ruby puppy born in January 2026. She’s so silly and sweet and absolutely loves people and playing. She likes to follow her people into the walk-in shower and trot around in the warm rain! She’s a great traveler and has been to the beach.

Rarity is great in a crate and will sleep the whole night in hers. She’s very quiet and rarely barks. If she wants out, she will rattle her water bowl and spill it everywhere—she thinks this is hilarious and does not mind being wet at all. However, elevators are scary! She’s more than willing to climb the stairs though.

This sweet pup had an MRI earlier this year after having a couple of seizures. She has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus and an incidental finding of Chiari malformation, and the seizures are secondary to the hydrocephalus. She currently takes a medication every eight hours and will need adjustments as she continues to grow in addition to follow ups with the neurologist. She may outgrow the seizures or it’s possible they may get worse, but we are optimistic. 

Rarity doesn’t know she has hydrocephalus! She’s your typical happy, energetic, playful Cavalier puppy. She is very smart, observant, and enjoys learning new things, often picking them up after being shown just once.

She is cat savvy and gets along well with other dogs. Her ideal situation would be a home where she is either the only dog or paired with a calm companion. Like most Cavaliers, it’s best her new family has someone home with her most of the time.

Rarity’s house training has been challenging but she is improving. This could be a neurological delay or it could just be her age. She will need patience and guidance as she continues to learn.

Rarity is about 11 pounds and will be a taller girl. She is a good eater and just eats on her own schedule. Her adoptive family will need to have her spayed before she’s 9 months old.
