Reba in Dallas, TX

Meet Reba! Reba (or Reba Lou or Lou Lou) is a 4-year-old female Blenheim (born 4/12/2022). At only 15 lbs., Reba is a true lapdog who is always trying to nestle her tiny body close to her person. She is very snuggly, quiet and matches the energy of the moment, whether that’s a calm nap on the couch or a high-energy walk. Reba is a true shadow dog, always one step behind you anywhere you lead her. 

Reba came into our rescue from a breeder who sadly struggled with some health issues that made her unable to keep her. She received a clean bill of health from the vet including a clear heart! She did have a parasite and has been treated for. She had a spay while in rescue and is current on core vaccines, microchipped, and is on heartworm prevention. She does generally have itchy/dry skin, so will need to be kept on supplements like fish oil and will need her skin to continue to be observed by a vet.

Reba is potty trained and had minimal accidents in the house while she was with her foster mom. She is also leash trained and enjoys long walks, especially in quiet areas without a lot of traffic nearby. She requires someone that is home most of the day, preferably someone who works from home or a retiree. She very rarely barks but may whine if she senses that you are leaving the house without her or is left alone in a crate. 

While she is laid back with humans, Reba is still working on how to be comfortable with other dogs. She would be best suited for a home without other pets as she has shown a tendency to resource-guard both food and attention from humans. She will need some training to work through her resource guarding to be safely around other animals. She has not been around young kids or cats while in foster care.
